Slight panic here as hubbys neice is living 400 yards from the metro station that was bombed, and working the other side, but she was already in work and confirmed as safe.
Morning all - beautiful spring morning - sunny and warmish
Glad to hear your relative is safe Fidget. I've had a neighbour round this morning to check my hubby is OK. He's a pilot flying in and out of the major European airports. He was enjoying the glamorous and exotic delights of the Humberside airport environs last night - so well away from any danger - but it was kind of her to think of us
I try not to dwell on the dangers of terrorism and air travel - but on a day like today I wish he was a milkman again....
Finishing off sorting out the insurances today then I should be able to manage a couple of hours in the garden. The strawberry bed is to become a herb bed - but at the moment it is a weed bed so a little digging and improving is in order.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Was pleased to see a beautiful Spring morning when I got up but the news has darkened the world since. I have used Maelbeek metro station more times than I can count on my way to EU meetings and it is painful to imagine the devastation there and at the airport. Victims and their families have a very difficult time ahead and will need a lot of support.
Living as I did for so long in Suffolk, Belgium seems very close and we were back and forth to Zeebrugge quite often for holidays camping in Belgium and the Ardennes. My thoughts are with our close neighbours and friends.
We had a lovely few days in S Lincs with OH's family, and I also managed a visit to Nut (while OH was doing chores for his mum). Golly gosh she and her OH have been busy since my last visit and again I came home with plants in the car boot
Now I'm ensconced on our own sofa; OH is in charge of supper, and later on I'll snuggle down in our own bed ... it's nice to go on visits, but it's very nice to come home
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hello all. We're safe thanks and, as far as I know, no friends lost or hurt but several disrupted by events and it will take some time before I know they're all safe.
Thankfully OH retired at the end of December as he used to work near the EU. He's had to go and fetch Possum from uni in Namur this evening as public transport is still affected and it's on the main Brussels/Luxembourg line.
So distressing for the people involved and their families. I suspect we all need to be vigilant now in major transport hubs and civic centres.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

It's always how they'll do it Verd. Ordinary people doing ordinary things on an ordinary day - the biggest target in any country.
Glad your hubby's niece is ok fidget, and your hubby T'bird. I thought of obelixx too when the news came through. Terrifying for everyone there.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Yes thoughts are with everybody about terrible news in Belgium
