I have Dove, and Bernard and I have 'signed up' Thank you
Wonky, I am sorry that the fab job (we'd hoped this was) has turned out to be all but... Mine is going great guns.... just hope I can stay, I'm only on a years contract
Horses were my job until I had my girls. I haven't ridden since I finished breaking a lovely youngster when I was pregnant with oldest fairylet. I'm often asked if I miss it, but I don't. It's different when it's your job. We had various tricky ponies of dubious temperament which all turned out well - one in particular who realised it was easier to do what he was asked, and became brilliant. The work put in was rewarded many times over.
Any photos Hosta?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Think the job has good and bad points - the problem is some weeks there are more bad points than good - she loves a large part of what she does, but there are some very difficult aspects and it can be very draining emotionally ...
Hosta - we need a photo ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I've stopped riding now, arthritis has struck, and nerves. I gave my lovely mare away to a young girl who grew out of her pony. Still have daughter's oldie (28) and her mare and my old mare (21) who was always a bit mad. Bought her cheap when first OH died, as a project. Think I was a bit mad too!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I've only ridden once - a neighbour asked me to ride her sons' horse which they'd grown out of, because it needed exercise. It was so wide (and my legs are so short) that it felt a bit like sitting on an uneasily shifting furry table, with my legs sticking out either side. Not an experience I've wanted to repeat, to be honest...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
but I don't think it's going to happen now - a friend had a nasty pelvic fracture when she took a tumble riding at my age and that's a risk I don't want to take.

I've ridden more elephants than I have horses.
I never progressed beyond donkeys on skegness beach.

Now you're asking Fairy, "somewhere" would be the answer.

The last time I rode was about 5 years ago when I went pony trekking through Doone Valley on Exmoor - absolute bliss.
I would love to have done this http://www.cumbrianheavyhorses.com/
