  • Hi nickimage do have a go  I have heritage primroses in troughs all along my front wall and they look magic image and a bonus the slugs and snails don't seem to bother with them image

  • Thank you nutcutlet - it is a bit wild - but I don't do manicured gardening - as long as it is colourful, attracts wildlife and we enjoy the garden rather than seeing it as a chore. Primrose flowers last a few weeks and as some of the flowers die other buds open up within the same plant. We have a primrose walk on the cliffs around south end of the island - they seem to do well in sun or shade. The plants are perennials over here too.

    My wild Primroses have invaded the lawn next to wild flower area and are very welcome as this is a damp area where the grass looks thin. One has somehow seeded itself into an apple tree and is now in flower.

    Mine flower on and off almost all year round here. I love them image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    native primulas are just about my fave flower. I love the colour and the simplicity, and that they herald Spring.

    I drove to Exeter yesterday and the bypass was filling up nicely with them.
