I will have a lot of  seeds later on, as most are still flowering, but is anybody interested in Paulownia fargesii (from a seed pod I picked up in kew gardens.) I sowed some and have a nice plant growing but I have loads of seeds left over.

Also I have some Paeonia mlokosewitchsii (molly the witch) seeds. These are a bit of a challenge, as the last ones I tried to grow took 3 years to germinate and then three years to flower. You have to sow the seed in a 3 inch pot, cover with grit and then leave it in a cold frame, checking every now and again. I know this plant is hard to get hold of so....... anyone interested?

fb, my own paeonies, including molly, germinate the following spring but anything I buy in takes the extra year.

Maybe its only when the seed is dried off then. How long did yours take to reach flowering size?

Difficult to say due to poor record keepingimage, but at least 4 possibly 5 years for molly,3 or 4 for the tree p's which are probably lutea and delaveyi.

I've never tried growing the tree peonies from seed. The one I've got (delavayi)is trying to take over. It's already gone under a path. I intend digging large chunks of it out. Its as bad as bamboo.

Mine isn't doing that, the red one which I bought as delaveyi gets new stems but isn't travelling. I have a low growing suckering yellow one, no name, that suckers but not to cause trouble.

Do you get many seeds from Molly? I only get a few every year and It's quite an extensive plant now. The seed cases are opening now, above 20 heads so far and I have 3 seeds

I've only got two that are seeding. They have a lot of red(infertile) seeds but about 20 black fertile seeds each. I usually cut the head now for dried material for winter flower arranging. They will last all winter. Very christmassy. My Molly is 20 years old, but I never get more than a few flowers, and they are so fleeting. I don't think its situation is right (too sandy). I may put one of the seedling plants somewhere else and see if it does any better, or maybe just try something else.

I've got one started in almost total shade now. I don't know if the paeonies like shade but the flowers last longer. I'm expecting that to flower next year. I had dozens of flowers on the big molly but she just doesn't make many fertile seeds. It's always like that, years now, so can't blame the weather. What I do get germinate though
