Hoping someone can help me identify what this plant is that I have inherited in a garden.

    I'd say it's Pernettya mucronata...

    I'm not that familiar with acid loving plants but I think it looks more like crinodendron as mollis suggests

    looks too compact for crinodendron. But I might well be wrong.

    Not sure it's Pernettya mucronata...looking at google images the 'fruits' all seem to be round in form. Your image shows a tail like a rose hip would have.

  • Having googled crinodendron using google images the only examples I can find are very large shrubs. This is only 20cm at best.

    Doesn't mean it won't grow though.

    Another acid loving plant and it is in a garden where the soil is on the acid side of neutral.

    A good feed with an ericaceous fertiliser may get it to flower later on.

  • If this plant is getting towards full size at 15 to 20cm and it likes an acid soil I'm thinking of lifting it and putting it in a pot instead. At the mo it's swamped by much bigger shrubs etc.
