Can't make up my mind ........ George Harrison, Reginald D Hunter, Stephen Fry ???
You can see that I don't have 'a type' - however although GH's shy smile has always made my heart skip a beat, I'm afraid that either of the other two would probably be better company over a meal.
I've met a couple of my 'teenage idols' and the conversation was stultifying so I'll go for someone with proven ability in the conversation stakes (this is a meal we're talking about after all )
The meal itself? Grilled lobster with garlic, chilli and parsley butter, an aged rare ribeye steak from a British Native breed with a salad of lamb's lettuce, a board of wonderful cheeses and finishing with a wedge of grilled caramelised pineapple please.
To drink - a bottle of Muscadet de Sevre et Main sur lie and another of Chateauneuf du Pape would be fine
Oh, and perhaps some Calvados
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Prawn linguine with crab sauce. Rib eye steak, new potatoes and salad. Apple crumble with cream. Don't know a lot about wine so will stick with a nice chilled Chardonnay.
Venison terrine with a glayva sauce then steak with fat lips blue sauce new potatoes and carrot batons and finally a Belgian chocolate soufle. A nice burgandy and finish with Talisker 18 yo distillers edition. Bliss
Please enlighten me about the differences in wine, Hosta, as I said I don't know much about wine haven't been able to afford it much. Don't go out very often, but occasionally I might have a bottle of cider,
Cider might go better with the greasy chip buttie .KEF
