Problems Storing Wellies

Don't laugh but I put those freebie shower caps that you get in hotels over mine to prevent spiders!!

Good luck with your coursework and let us know what you design.

  • I bought a wrought iron boot stand a couple of years ago - the stands come in various sizes so that 4 or 8 pairs of wellies can be stored on them.  The idea is that you can put the welly stand outside as it doesn't rust (well hasn't so far) and you put the boots upside-down on the stand - take a look on Amazon as they have similar products

Too many of us using them to have a tray, we need something to stop them all falling over as we then fall over them

could you make something like a mug holder that could be outdoors? I have often thought of this

Hello JWestwood, are you related to Vivian, can we expect designer welly storage!  Course, those of us who live in a mansion have a Boot Room, dont we darling!!!  Only joking, cannot see you need a "specific" for storing wellies, our boots are in the porch on a metal shoe/boot rack nice and neat, well MINE are!

Patsy F, dont they get wet inside then, being outside the back door?

They must be very cold when you put your feet in them if they're outside.

  • The outdoor welly rack is ideal - no, the boots don't become wet inside because they are up-side-down. They are cool to put on, but not cold - I did find a snail had crawled inside one of mine last winter, however, the pros far outweigh the cons of having dirty boots inside.

Ooooh, I clean them off first, but I dont consider my porch inside!  I must admit they are really cold even in there, so they get brought in for a "warm up" first.   Is it warmer in Guernsey?  I am in the SE 10 minutes from the Sea, near the South Downs, or are you hardier?

I'd never leave wellies outside here - upside down or otherwise!

A porch is ideal if you have one, but mine just live next to the back door, until summer when they go in a cupboard.

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • We don't have a porch and very little space, so outside is ideal for us - yes the boots are cold for a few minutes but my feet are warm (but not sweaty!) so they soon warm up the boots - if it is really cold then I would put a couple of pairs of socks on before venturing outside.
