    Morning Fairygirl, thank you that's my favourite too, we stayed in Punta Prima Barcelo Hotel, it was gorgeous, food was good and the room was spotless, we stayed for 14 night and got 11 days of sunshine, the rest was dry but grey so got plenty walking and shopping done on the grey days, we will definately go again : )

    Smashing gardens guys?

    Loving papi jo's ligularia, it looks huge at the back of the garden, fab hydrangea (must plant mine out) from flyfifer and hollyhock from gwrs. Lovely pics from BL, like the one taken on the bank above the path, also love flowers in the rain's border in front of the hedge, great combo of shapes, and Andy Leeds helenium and salvia combo tooimage

    Hope I've remembered all and matched the correct plant to it's parent!

    Just thinking about Andy's salvia there, and how I've been resisting temptation to buy one (other than Dear Anja recently) as I didn't know which one I already have and didn't want to get the same...just got up to look at mine and realised I don't actually have a blue salvia...and if I did have one I cannot remember when I last saw it...image/image/image

    Never mind, can now put it on the listimage

    @Victoria Sponge

    That Ligularia stenocephala 'The Rocket' is well-named! It's currently about as tall as me (1.75m). One of the few yellows allowed in my white, pink and blue garden.

    I have that one too as a backdrop to my hosta bed.   It's great with its spikes against the flatter, rounded hosta foliage but I must look out for that orange one that FG mentioned.

    This is such a great thread - lovely to see the borders that BL, Andy and PJ have shown us along with all the close ups of individual flowers.  Some lovely associations in there.

    Victoria Sponge, may be obvious but the salvia I have dotted through that border is caradonna.  Absolutely love it - it's now my stock 'filler' and will look great for (hopefully) a few months to come.

    Hi Andy, yes, I presumed it was caradonna. Yours looks quite tall which is what I would like.

    I have a tall, maybe 3', pinkish one whose name I've forgotten, I think the spikes look nice even after the flowers have goneimage

    Love it Verdun. I've never seen much of your garden but any I have seen the planting is tops.

    I'm planning an easicare border and so far it's all big green lumps. image Those pokers are stunning in that light.
