image honestly I didnt use the laser this time image Someone once asked me a while back if I had a inbuilt spirit level image

Philippa S2 - I bought tawny king last year as a plug plant. I planted it out this spring out of a 2 or 3 litre pot.

FG - really pleased with ligularia and monarda combo, was going to try crocosmia lucifer but didnt have enough space. I've got a bench right next the Lig / monarda I cant help but rub the leaves of the monarda for the scent image. I bought little rocket earlier this year but that flowered ages ago. I like britt marie crawford aswell but just dont have the space image

Britt Marie C is the one I have. Very different to the Przewalski one, but a great, reliable plant. The foliage is lovely too. I'm creating a hot border so the Lig's going in there, mainly with purply reds rather than scarlets though. A good strong 'clashing' colour combo can be stunning image

I've been asked that too - barely need a spirit level. Can tell by eye if something's straight. I always check it though...just to be sure...image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Our garden was sadly neglected this spring, due to family stuff, but it's looking a bit better now

Really smashing Dove. You are right about the early morning light - I try to have my morning cuppa outside as it brings me a smile before work.

Lovely example of a shady area thriving.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

The lawn is burning up in this heat, 36° yesterday, 37° today, and the tall double rudbeckias are drooping, despite a good watering yesterday. But the upper middle bed gets some shade at the hottest part of the day and is still surviving.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
