Thanks everybody. That Philadephus was taken down to about 6ins high from about 8ft. The Berberis was taken down to ~3ft from 10 and we removed about a dozen trailerloads of brambles!
I've decided to fill it with ordinary things. I have a large border at the back so it'll be for colour and the bank will be easicare shrubs and stuff. Weigela, a couple of different Lonicera nitida as "hedge", cytisus, Lavatrea Barnsley babies, a Rowan and a hawthorn for height, a couple of "surprises" from my neighbour one of which might be Spirea , cotoneaster. Pretty much all the scraps that are sitting about in pots. Crocosmia and "acoholic mollies" to cover the bits that are impossible to dig due to carpet and various bits of root and rubbish. I also have a couple of clemtis montana for across the fence.
My plan is to plant it up, mulch with three feet deep bark, and then run away.
I hate to say it in case I scud myself but you can't walk here for slugs and not one on either Hosta! Not a pellet either. I wish I knew why...I'd sell it on here!
Verdun - I like the the helenium and agastache combo, I have you got anymore heleniums out in flower yet? I got MBeauty just starting to flower and waltraut, still waiting on sahin early and indian summer. I got a few kniphofia flower buds showing cant wait for tawny king to flower.
Chicky - lovely planting, the campanula a real show off. Must of taken you ages to fill the borders.
PP - Hosta is in pristine condition whats your secret? your borders are coming along nicely
Mortuus - I like your dahlias, I am really impressed with the path pictures.
I been out and took a few pictures, still waiting on a lot of plants but the ligularia prez ???? with monarda cambridge scarlet cheering me up.

So good to see you Verdun. You've been missed. Garden looks absolutely amazing. x
Pp - you should be very pleased with all the work you have done
Mortuus - doesn't look like a beginners garden to me - looks fab.
Pp - your bank is really coming along - that area will look lovely and protected at the same time. What else is going in there ?
Thanks Verd and Lizzie

It's a pink one Perki...
Sorry....
Przewalski(i) - like the horse
My lig isn't ready to flower yet. Always look forward to it though.
Lovely pix - the Monarda/Lig combo is very smart. Greta contrast in shape and colour
Lovely garden Mortuus - you're selling yourself short
PP and chicky - looking pretty good...and the garden's aren't bad either
Did you enjoy the walk RB? Only a short 'un for you
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Nice pictures & gardens
For goodness sake Perki! Do you cut that hedge with the same scissors you use for your edges?
Somebody take his Laser away!
