Ooh I love that colour of Cosmos, I think they are my new favourite annual......I now don't know which colour to get though as I thought they only came in pinks and white Confused.com LOL!
The dahlia is beautiful. I never liked Dahlias really until this year and there were so many gorgeous ones in the GC, my mum bought me 2 yellow ones and I'm going to get more for next year. That colour Cosmos would go lovely in my red/yellow section of the border
I would happily save some seed but do not think it would come true as have other whites and pinks in the border - let me know if you want me to give it a go.
That would be lovely Clare, I don't think they do come true though as I've started a thread with my Cosmos before I saw this and others have said that, worth a try though
The star in my garden at the moment is my wigwam of Black Eyed Susan, grown from seed, on our front porch - she keeps getting compliments from the postmen and people calling with collecting tins etc
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Artjak - it's the first time I've grown them - if I remember correctly I sowed into a half-tray and germinated them under a clear plastic lid on the south-east facing windowsill in the dining room - in late April I think - then pricked out into modules and put them in the mini-greenhouse - then they went into fibre pots and were hardened off outside before planting into the big pot - they seemed quite straightforward but it has been a lovely summer for plants that like it warm and sunny

Picture quality not good I am using my phone, these are the only cosmos I have left all blown down in the gales last week.

Dove, it does
I have tried to grow this from seed years ago and failed; any advice?
CornishClare - that's good combination with the dahlia picking up on the cosmos centre. I try to get good combos but more luck than judgement
Lyn your plants and views are extraordinary. Don't know how you do it but I love it
