I'm afraid there is no view on that boundary worth framing, it's more of a privacy thing (or slightly less exposed thing more like). I would like it to look a bit wild and woolie but still be manageable.
I know what you mean by contrived V. There's one near here which is neatly trimmed ordinary beech with a copper beech stickiing up every fifteen feet! EEEEuuuuuggh!
I would like to get some of those reinforcing rods to make nice tidy plant supports instead of my usual cobweb of canes and baler twine! And I have been hankering after Agapanthus Midnight Dream ever since I saw it at Tatton (Monty liked it too, he was standing next to me!) But my gardening club is running a trip to Ashwoods in the spring, so I don't suppose I'll have any money left after the hellebores!
The Undergardener is going to help me with some structural screening - maybe along the lines of a pergola - ish sort of thing - and then the new island bed will be constructed - I'll need lots and lots of plants
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Well I had treated myself to a Magnolia 'Black Tulip', 2 Cornus 'Sibirica', 1 Cornus 'Midwinter Fire', Dicentra 'Aurora' and then 3 plug plants each of Hellebores 'Red Lady' and 'Blue Metallic Lady' ..... However they were bought online and shipped on the 23rd Dec, lost by the courier and now the replacements can't be sent until next week. Ho hum! It'l be worth the wait though

A hedge 'should' be trimmed just as you like it Verdun
I like some wavy bits and a small tree or two and only trim it once a year

I'm thinking of getting myself a ticket for the Chelsea Flower Show. Very tempting.

I would love some help to clear out the pond, which is now full of Bullrushes, reeds and silt brought down off the moor, by the stream.
At this rate, there is going to be very little bird breeding activity, come spring.
The good news is, that so far the stream has not flooded.
