why not treat yourself to a special or long wanted plant for the spring/summer?  It may not be a major purchase, perhaps a little cheery thing to look forward to after Frank and his cousins have done their worst?

Got most on my current wish list but Dicentra Burning Hearts will do it for me.  imageAnything for you guys?

I'm with you on that, Hosta! I ordered a fig Rouge de Bordeaux to grow in a pot, a grape vine and lots of strawberries yesterday. Next on my list are blueberries and perhaps a eucalyptus - just a small one! Somebody please stop me.

And seed potatoes, but I'll wait with those because I have nowhere to store them except in the fridge.

  • I love Oscar Wilde

I would just like my garden to look better, and not a complete mess.

It's up to me to sort it out. I will do it.
  • I need a hedge. A big loooooooooooooooong hedge. Might go for hawthorn or mixed native. It's the thought of all those little holes that's putting me off. image

As a matter of opinion. hedges around these parts have the odd bit sticking up (tree) for aesthetics. Do we think yes or no?

I think a tree here and there works if they frame a view further out. Otherwise it can look a bit odd. But it depends on your situation too ppauper.

Or have I misunderstood what you're saying? image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • For me - and it is coming - small growing quince tree for a pot. Jelly here we come!
  • some seeds of the new yellow cosmos for the year of the cosmos, some white cucumber seeds and some cucamelons

Maureen60 I need digging done same as you up to me to sort that out

Plant pauper - depends if you want a neat hedge or not - if you are thinking of trees then you may want evergreen interest so not to look like a hedge in winter with twigs as trees (unless big strong trees)
