Christmas Present Fail

  • Very exciting Verdun image

As a family we've reined back on amounts spent - the youngsters can't afford a lot, neither can the pensioners, and there's no reason why the in-betweeners should spend more than everyone else.

And my logical mind feels that if larger sums of money are to be spent, then it should be spent by the people who want the items, so they can make sure they get exactly what they want.  image

  • I'm very lucky, I always get lovely pressies.

Although, my sister in the past gave some 'weird' pressies at times lol image

Bob, I know its called 'aftershave' but you could pat a bit on image

  • I like the idea of a family Secret Santa. Reduces costs all round, but only works well with the over 16s.

  • Congratulations on your imminent arrival Verdun. As a Christmas baby let me just say that one must NEVER EVER combine presents for the two. Always buy rhe birthday card in October as they are swept off the shelves shortly thereafter!!! And NEVER EVER EVER wrap either in the "other" paper. An ex of mine tried some of the above.....until one time in June when I said I couuldn't afford a birthday present as it was too close to Christmas and anyway I'd forgotten because I'd been too busy with pudding etc. I wish I had a photo of that expression!!!! image

  • I'm hoping for a family of Robins to move in Verdun! image

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • I was a December baby and usually got just one present for my birthday with a 'that'll do for Christmas as well'.
