I agree with some of you about things like high heels, expensive shoes, (I have big flat feet anyway), Facebook, Twitter, spitting, minor celebrities eating disgusting things and false nails, but some of you mention so much that I love.

How could anyone not like horses and Bounty Bars? Beautiful and delicious. I like parsnips, but I can see that some might not. There is so much that plant pauper doesn't like I'm wondering what she does like, including food!

Right, can't hang about here, must go and feed my beautiful horses, taking my lovely pet border collie with me. Wish I had a delish brownie to stick to my teeth while I'm doing it image

One thing that has passed me by and I don't get is coffee

I always wonder if I'm missing something. Would I be more energetic? More sociable?

The coffee emporiums where you get a bucket of coffee for an hour's wages, I don't get. I've never been into one. I don't understand the language  lattes and skinnies and cappuccino s  - what are they?

    What am I missing?

I find  I them as intimidating as posh frock shops with snooty assistants.

    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • B3, you're missing nowt! I don't get it either, give me a cup of tea any day!

B3, as far as the "coffee" chains go, you're not missing anything. What they are selling is not coffee. Coffee comes in tiny mugs with thick walls, no milk (milk in coffee - the horror!) and no sugar, because these would disguise the taste of really good coffee.

Coffee without milk or sugar? Yuk! Love coffee in a mug sweet and milky.

That was B3, plant pauper. B3 didn't like Chardonnay, trifle or tea either! Perhaps I would be slim if I didn't like so many edible things.image

    Busy - a timely reminder.

    There are no calories in:

    • food eaten standing up - particularly at parties
    • broken biscuits or crumbs of any kind unless incorporated in a recipe such as bread pudding
    • food nicked from someone else's plate  - particularly chips, sausages or crispy bacon.

I worked for one hour behind the counter of the café at Waitrose and had to make a latté and a cappucino. What a load of self indulgent nonsense.

You have to hold the steam thingy at this angle for this number of seconds then at this depth for so many more second. You have to have the froth Xmm thick. Don't even start me on the range of "sprinkles and syrups"
