N.B. On that page there's also a game called Feed the Dove - it seems there's no description of how to play this - I think this is an important game and we should re-invent it - it should involve sausage rolls and mince pies

I used to enjoy Christmas more when the girls were little - find it a bit of a chore these days...
It would be a lot more enjoyable if people didn't try to make it last for three weeks
We'll have a nice time though - doing the usual stuff and eating a bit too much and watching rubbish telly. The girls won't be with me on Christmas Day for long as they will be at their Dad's, but we'll have a few laughs opening stockings and prezzies before they go
Did anyone see the elderly man who was reunited with his letter to Santa when the house he'd lived in was being renovated? The builders who found it gave him the presents he'd asked for. Brilliant
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I heard about the letter to Santa on the radio - what a lovely thing for the builders to do
We used to have traditional family Christmases, but recently things have changed and become more flexible. Think son will be at girlfriend's family and Wonky and her lovely hub have their own special Christmas Day. We'll have a big family get together near to my birthday in January.
Sometimes we're at OH's for Christmas, but I think we're there for New Year this year and for the first time (except the year I had Norovirus) we'll be 'Just the Two of Us' on Christmas Day - really looking forward to it and having a 'different' sort of celebration - the plan is grilled lobster for our main course and raspberry and limoncello semi-freddo for pud

Fairgirl I share your sentiments... the ' magic' disappears as the children grow esp when they discover the truth about Santa!
We need some grandchildren!!!!
Wonky, I agree all the ' little disasters' can make for future giggles!
Hosta....bah humbug!! Don't you like Christmas?
It was quite moving listening to the story of the Santa letter....and the silk tie. How times have changed , children's gift expectations are very different now!!
I love Christmas too. I adore making the house look cosy and festive. It's one of the few times of the year that we get to totally relax. I love the run up.
We go to church on Christmas Eve, and come home to roast beef cobs.
On Christmas Day, my other half and I open presents together first thing and have a breakfast of something special as a treat. He then goes off to his family and me to mine.
Christmas day is then with mum, dad, sister, brother-in-law and grandma. A traditional roast turkey lunch and lots of goodies. Some strange booze from the back of mum's cupboard appears! It must be years out of date!! We'll play games and I've taken to doing a Christmas quiz.
Then home in the evening for telly and nibbles.
On boxing day I'm itching to take down the decorations though!

Lovely Dove thanks, will definitely give that go- sounds like great fun will be had by all.
Despite being 90 my Dad does have an Xbox, so we all have a giggle playing on it . Mind you my Dad is very competitive....... and likes to win!!
As its Christmas he's allowed to .....bless him!
bah humbug
Chicky, what's tippet and Paddy from home?
Well, whodathunkit?
Mr Google says Paddy from Home is the same as Ring on a String!!! Except they explain it much more succinctly http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/traditional-games-2/traditional-games-2%20-%200136.htm
(and they don't mention inebriate uncles
).
