Please Santa, done my best to be good! image could I have some time to spend in the garden, with nice weather if possible? image

  • I've been incredibly good, and Santa's still not stopping the rain - is it because it's Wales?

  • I just wanted a new border spade and a replacement watering can - nothing posh, lightweight plastic.  Then I had to go to B and Q and they had a really nice spade reduced to half price (I think they re closing down) so too good an opportunity to miss.  Whilst it was adorning the kitchen I went to dig something up and the shaft broke on the old one....so the new one is already in service. So what now?  Perhaps one of those hoses in a box that can be screwed to the back of the garage and puts itself away when I've finished watering.....unlike Wales we suffer from a lack of water most years......though some waterproof clogs might be nice right now as I've got a hole in my current pair, and for once we have had lots of rain.

An early Christmas present - not a request - has just turned up. I was with my sister when I saw and raved about a eucryphia nymansensis 'Nymansay' in the summer (which you lot gave me an ID for - have also posted on that thread) and now she's bought me one! I'm somewhat daunted by the possible future size of the thing and would never have bought one myself, but what a sweet thought - I'm determind to find a good spot for it (ha! In a SE London semi's garden) and to do the best by it that I can.

L G , lucky you on the Eucryphia, they're pretty pricey but I'm sure you're well worth it. image

Might have to redesign front garden to do it justice...

  • Sorry Edd, I do occasionally suffer from brain freeze, so this might be one of those times, but I don't understand your post.  You may have to explain it in words of one syllable.  ( I almost forgot how to spell syllable then ).  image

gardening granny -  I've got a retractable hozelock hose on the wall - it's fab-u-lous. I forced my hubby to buy it, I can be very persuasive.  Now where's my knuckle duster and pliers.  image

Lucky you LG - I doubt my sister will even manage a bottle of bath oil. image

They couldn't have been the same toys my brother had. He tested them all to destruction.
