Gosh Fairygirl, I'm stuffing myself with chocolate and you're building a raft. I don't want to give up my chocolate, could you and Ray Mears please set up home on a neighbouring island, ( within shouting distance) in case I need you.
I used to be quite good at rowing when I was younger. I think if birdyboots has lots of chocolate we should invite her to join us if she doesn't mind sharing. We'll need to keep up our energy!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Eight plants is not enough really - could my less intelligent, rather ugly, non-identical twin sister of the same name, also have a go at this?
Seven fir trees, and one palm......
...then I could cut 'em up and make a raft to get the hell out of there.... the palm would provide the means to lash them together
Of course, the luxury item would have to be an axe or a saw....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
What a practical person you must be Fairygirl! My choices were pretty flowers and a romantic novel. Fat lot of use they would be!
I'd need a map and compass as well though, BL !

I could choose those and we could sail off together!
How good are you at rowing? I'd be rubbish - we'd be going round in circles

The other problem is - I can't swim, so it'll need to be a very big raft!
I like my feet on terra firma
