I enjoy the banter and lively argument with the exception of the fungus shall rule the earth chap who made me feel a little uncomfortable.

It would be a shame if a 99.9999% friendly site became sanitised. Surely there is room for gentle teasing and a spot of irony.

From what I have observed , those most likely to be offended often take humorous comments literally.

  • I too enjoy the banter on here - I don't enjoy reading personal attacks on other posters simply because they hold a different view.  That is not banter - that is bullying image

    Hear hear.

Friends tease each other.  Bullies are just unpleasant, generally to those who can't respond.

This includes interfering with their fun.

I never got to see this 'vanishing thread' and If it's about pesticides it sounds very important as everybody needs to be educated on the matter and not everybody is, including googlers who might browse this forum. Reading through others debate is often what makes them question there own beliefs about the subject at hand and this is very very important in self growth so please give it back Mr Daniel.

What I find most offensive is the fact that the censor can remove a thread without  giving any justification or right of reply.

I have been concerned that university students are refusing free speech to people with opposing or what they deem to be offensive views. If you don't let them speak there will be no debate and no chance of changing their viewpoint.

The same applies to this forum. How can we address a controversial issue without free debate? How can we ensure manufacturers stop selling useless or dangerous products if we can't discuss their 'merits' ?
