Still haven't watched this programme - have it recorded - perhaps tonight's the night. Generally enjoy watching MD much more than other TV gardeners. I like his gentle self-deprecating style.
Where are you watching Gardening Australia Verdun? Is it on SKY or are you watching on You Tube or similar?
Would be fun to watch to see what my SIL should be doing in her garden right now (just outside Canberra) & to see what problems Aussie gardeners face. I suspect they might be a little more serious than my heavy clay & windy corners (as it were..)
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
We had the best holiday on Nth Island New Zealand. Had a house for a week overlooking the Bay of Islands (sailing was involved as well) followed by a week split between Coramandel & relatives outside Auckland. Then we stopped off in Sidney for a few days with other family.
As you say - an amazing laid back lifestyle - so much space - so little traffic and stunning views round every corner. Weather was pretty good too. Best fish and chips ever - (the fish was blue nose which I've never seen anywhere else) and really enjoyed sampling the local produce at the many vineries. Sidney harbour was simply spectacular & we arrived on Australia Day staying in a hotel overlooking the bridge so were treated to a first class view of all the festivities.
Understand why you might like to go back - but we'd miss you ....

Just watched the Secret History (lots of competition for the TV from the jungle in this household) ......loved it. Particularly liked the lamb bearing plant ....wonder if Chilterns have that in their seed catalogue...... Might give the deer round here a bit of a shock
Watched this yesterday and enjoyed it. Really informative and interesting. Loved Monty having a go at making those sheers. I love to see those traditional skills.

Simply magnificent, as one knows anything Monty does always is.

He could post from there - just like Pat does
And he could continue to be smug about the weather - we wouldn't notice the difference
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
