ID sub shrub

I grew this from a cutting whilst on a propagation course and cannot find out what it is.  The original shrub is gone and nobody knows what it is.  I have also searched the internet.

It has grown to about 2 ft for me in 1 year and is not winter hardy (I loss the first one)  Cuttings strike very easily and I now keep in a cold greenhouse over winter.

The leaves are a bit fleshy, pea green with purple backs and are scented (???) The stems are purple.  The flowers are lilac blue and very like salvias but I am convinced it is not a salvia

Hope you can see it properly, if not I will photo individual leaves and stems

I am pretty sure that  is a Salvia, could be Black and Blue. Very easy from cuttings and not always winter hardy.

  • Don't thinks so pansyface, it a lot tougher and is a shrub of some sort. Leaves do look a bit catmint I agree but the scent is not mint

  • Do you thinks so Lyn?I have googled endlessly but don't know Black and Blue so will have a look.  The flowers are certainly salvia like which made it my original though

  • Lyn  I have looked up Black and blue and the colours are right but my leaves are more heart shaped and I think more thicik and the flowers curve over
