whew. Got there in the end
If they smell of onion they're alliums. You can lift them with a hand fork pretty easy to solve.
Ah. Alliums it is! What do I do with them? Are they worth keeping?
I'd prefer to kill them in the lawn. Will mowing kill them?
Could well be the A. triquetum suggested earlier. Mine are at about that stage.
Alliums are onions Chris.
Or, more accurately, onions are alliums
Oh I see.
I guess I should start to like onions then!!
Mowing will kill those in lawn. I'd leave the others to develop and flower before deciding if you like / want them.
they're ornamental rather than edible Chris.
Oh - thats a shame. Thought I was going to get a good crop of spring onions this year!
Are they invasive like bluebells or quite easy to contain?
easy to maintain Chris, have no fear.
Excellent.
Thank you all very much for your help.
