What is this, and how do I get rid of it?

    I'm very much a gardening novice so not sure what snowdrops or allium look like. Il look them up and have a root around the garden.

    Do I not need to dig up all trace of root to get rid of them permanently? Is it that simple?

    The top 1 is a big one in the border. The 2nd is in border but smaller one. Third is a bulb dug out the border. And last is  clump dug out the lawn.

    I've got allium seedling growing, but no sign of my snowdrops yet.

    I'm going to stick with alliums, but I might well be wrong.

    If they're alliums they'll smell like alliums. Do they?image

    I'd rule out snowdrops. They're not snowdrop bulbs in the later pics

    Not sure what alliums smell like. They smell like spring onion...

    good call nut, Chris , bruise the foliage and see if it smells oniony.
