Sounds as though you've already done that for them! Perhaps you ought to present your bill!

I have an Eleagnus bush (over 6ft tall and wide) which I cut hard back hard mid August last year so it looked like this:-

Just 6 weeks later it looked like this:-

In July this year (less that 1 year since I cut it back) it looks like this:-

...and I have pruned it twice during that time!

I can't see how anyone could charge £400 for that!

Liri, sorry , but you  can't " chuck them back"

You have the right to cut back , but you must "offer" the cuttings back.

"chucking them back " would be considered "fly tipping"

anyway, the neighbour, as has been said is  " p*ssing in the wind" if he/ she expects you to stump up a single penny.

. You did nothing outwith the law.

They have to prove you did , you don't have to prove your innocence.

Let them get solicitors, it'll cost them a fortune and they'll lose.

  • Their solicitor states that we only have the right to cross the drive which my neighbour owns and that we do not have the right to cut the offending hedge which over hung their property,he states that we should have asked him to cut back hedge which was blocking our way on to our drive.Shared drives ok for reasonable people but share one with a jealous little saddo with no life and your going to have problems.

    he's talking bollocks

But he would say that wouldn't he?

Don't give in to this bullying and threaten the solicitor with  the  Legal Ombudsman.

We took our solicitor to the LO and won.

our dispute was over cost relating to our purchase of this home.

They ended up knocking over £1,000 off the bill , we still won the case ( at not cost to us ) and they had to pay us compensation.
