Lucifer Plants

I need advice. I have a big clump of Lucifer plants which had a poor show of flowers this year. I dug most of them out but left in the soil about 7 plants. Do I need to cut the top off now? Secondly...the bulbs I've dug up have lots of little bulbs attach to a big bulb. I like to replant some..how do I go about doing this?…
