I sowed some seeds when I put my courgette seeds in three weeks ago. Same conditions. Courgettes up in a week. Cucumelon have just germinated.

Part of my 'try something new' this year. I have also got the James wong electric daisies. should be good for a laugh.image

  • sounds good, just tried to order some cucumelons without any luck, may be next year.

i am growing some, it did take a while for the seeds to germinate and the plants take a bit of time to grow after pricking out but they look about to take of now with the sun shining. James says they will grow outside but are better in a greenhoue or tunnel.

I am also trying sweet potatoes

  • can we only get them from from sutton seeds?

i bought the seeds from the garden centre

They are in the James Wong range by  Suttons. I bought mine when I saw a stand at Kew Gardens shop, but I have seen them since in larger garden centres.

I objected to Suttons post and packing charge for a packet of seeds.

I bought seeds from the eden project and grew them last year. They went crazy in the greenhouse ! Got loads of fruit but I found them rather bitter, pickle most of them.

  • Thanks folks

  • I have tried three times to germinate cucamelon seeds without success. What do you think I am doing wrong? Sown in multipurpose compost in small seeds trays covered with a propagater lid. No trouble with other similar seeds.
