It dies down each year to small tubers a bit like dahlias. The main problem is that is doesn't start to grow until may, so early weeding results in a fork being put through it.
This is a cluster of about 6 plants. I will probably split the larger clump up again this autumn. I seem to have lost the purple version.

A geranium in this garden has just started flowering - I was hoping it wouldn't be the common 'birthday cake pink' one that's everywhere here. Fortunately it's a deep violet one. Came out very blue on the camera so I adjusted it a bit on the site. Still a bit pale but here it is:
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Just flowered today. Last night it was all in tight bud. Today blooming marvellous.
