That's the cunning plan ppauper  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I became a heuchaholic just two years ago and now have them all over my huge garden.  Here are some pics of some of them.  some I bought and have split into five or so,  They soon make big plants except the alpine varieties.

  • I'm stunned to near silence HM. You're a very busy lady! Next you'll be taking up that acrobatic ballet that Pat was talking about in the potting shed this morning!

Your plants are beautiful. I'm particularly fond of the autumny coloured ones. I have some just green Bressingham hybrids which I bought to fill a gap and I'm smitten. They've made me aware of all the other types out there. My local village has a deep purple version planted round with a bright lime green ferns. They've been there for years and every year they surpise me with their freshness.

I've ordered some heucherella for my Winter planting so hopefully they'll do well. I just wish they'd hurry up and get here!

  • Here is my Key Lime Pie beside my black elder today.  I would recommend Southern Comfort and Red fire engine and this one as three of the best.  The American ones can be spotted by their names - a British grower would have called Southern Comfort Whisky!  Give each plant lots of room as they need it.  This one is a second division off a plant I bought two years ago.  Better not to have a load together as the scent will attract vine weevil and you could loose the lot. Better to spread them round the garden like I do and let your other plants protect them.

  • Ooooo top tip. I was going to plant them in large groups. I've had weevil problems already but on my poppies, not my heuchera. I don't need any more.
