I think you have poor pollination, which is why you have an odd arrangement of the kernels instead of neat rows. That one should be ready in a day or two.
Ours are just about ready. The ones we ate yesterday were much better flavoured than last weeks. The squirrels haven't found them yet, they are too busy in the oaks.
We finally had our first ones yesterday and wow was worth the wait! I don't think I've ever had such sweet and juicy corn on the cob - we didn't even need any butter with them
Its our first time growing corn and I was starting to wonder if they were ever going to ripen - the silks have been brown for weeks so I've been having a quick peek every few days to see how they were going, but the kernels were staying resolutely white. I guess we've not had enough sun recently.

but does it matter if it's exposed much? I'm new to sweetcorn
wrap up as best you can , even if you to tie a bit of string round them.
Have no fear, they'll be fine in the end.
yay thank you all!

this time last year mine were harvested (and eaten) and the beds had been cleared, this year I've had one cob off so far!
