Drilling and Resolva weed killer did my 30' conifers a treat, Drill a 10mm hole(s) and fill with weedkiller couple of times a day and it should be sorted
Ive been sussed, ime a bit of a driller killer at heart,
But my conifers started being fed almost three years ago, nice and steady as to not cause the "war office " cause for concern, she still thinks it was the cold wind that killed them, how good is that !
ozwig - and of course, it's never wise to plant conifers in the same area.....
The 24 hour Resolva does exactly what it says on the tin Verd. It's the only one I use. I have a ready mixed one and also the stuff you can dilute yourself. Serves my purposes perfectly. I treated some dandelions which are on the pavement along my boundary and in the front path the other night at about half seven. No rain was forecast but it rained a good bit through the night. Was expecting next day to see them still alive but, no, they're all brown
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Anyone tell me if the Rowan, or mountain ash can get the Ash die back, my previously healthy tree has quite suddenly died back, and ive not been near it with 24 hour resolva ! I have another smaller Rowan a few metres away from it but so far that is fine.
I have a gut feeling though that Mountain Ash is just a popular name for it and its not even an ash tree. Anyone help at all please ?
I'd agree Tetley - I wouldn't use it for something substantial, was really just replying to Verd's post re being too late to use it. Probably didn't make that clear
As pansyface says - Rowan isn't an Ash, it's a Sorbus. There are two different Sorbus as well - just to confuse you! The other one is Whitebeam which is a lovely tree with silvery grey foliage and always seems to make a nice 'tree' shape

Oooh sorry Verd - I should have been clearer
It wasn't you I was referring to - it was the person advocating petrol and matches....

Sensible weedkilling is always acceptable in my book where there's no alternative or there's a large area to clear etc.
I'd agree that the issue of the wall needs looked at very carefully.
