I will take a pic of mine later to compare leaves.

I used to have an honesty stall at my last house, surprising how some people take the 'P', some one used to donate a whole tray of strawberry plants each year, and both times there was 10p in the box. I put up the charity board where I send the money too, cheeky b****rs!  I didn't do it any more after that, just sold privately and donated the money.

    This is Potentilla Arc etc.

And this is Potentilla pulvinaris , a tiny species.

As you can see the leaves are very different to Alchemilla.

Looking at those, I think it's alchemilla.

This honesty shop seems to do pretty well - they display a running total of the amount raised (for local hospice) and it's been going for two or three years. I got a fab aeonium for my brother once. It started as a few plants on the garden wall, then spread the length of the wall, then the wall on the other side of the gate, then into the front garden and now on the pavement in front of the wall too. I think people probably just drop stuff off there as well as buying it. I'm sure some stuff gets taken, and it's a bit of a route back from the pub so some stuff probably gets messed with, but generally seems fine.

I'm still not convinced it is a Alchemilla, the leaves are not right.I have now asked my Mum if she can remember the name of the plant I think it is.It has a white flower, something like a flattened convolvulus flower.

I can see why you thought that - but that's definitely not it!

It goes out of focus when enlarged but not an alchemilla or a potentilla.

Not the same plant as OP

Looks like my herbaceous potentilla. Reddish flowers with primrose centres creeps amongst veronica. Late spring early summer

    In London. Keen but lazy.

Here's my potentilla, but it only has five segments to the leaves OP has seven.

we could be forgiven for thinking that's what it was!
