My children have all flown the nest but I still have the need to care and nurture.Being in my garden allows me to do so, I love growing plants from seed and watching them grow and blossom. Knowing that they depend on me to provide for them in their early days makes me feel good, but equally if any should die off then I am devastated
We had a party at the weekend and to hear people say "your garden is fantastic!" meant the world. My garden is my haven and gives me a huge amount of pleasure. To know that other people appreciate it too, is great.
we are currently house hunting. The first thing I look at on right over are the photos of the garden And it needs to be right.. No-one else vision, not overlooked, big enough for all my stuff.. I would be absolutely lost without my garden. I am dreading leaving mine
I just love my garden its a place I can call my own but for the injoyment of everyone that visits. but it is a hobby and my wife loves the results and sitting in a chair drinking a glass of wine the only thing is she cant understand why I need so much compost ha ha
My front garden is my 'show garden', my social space - when I'm working out there the neighbours and passers-by stop for a chat or to 'beg' a cutting or seedling.
the back garden is the work in progress where I can have a nursery bed and a recovery ward. It's where the robin lives and follows me around when I'm digging in case I throw him a worm.
like some of you I have struggled with depression for years and at times my garden has been a life-saver.
Certainly conjures up a picture of a real sanctuary Susan. I had a robin in my garden the other day and I managed to get this snap of it before it flew off.
During the summer months next season I intend to plant a couple of thousand dahlias amongst other things Runny and get into the cut flower market. This winter I will be growing rather a lot of onions etc. I will have some picnic tables under the trees and use it a my own park, might even build a pond.
After all that I will decide what to do with the 75% that is left over!
