Bergenias - they just look so clumsy.  I've got two in the garden but think an accident with a axe is on the cardsimage

Jap Anemone, Kniphofia, golden rod, gazanias, marigolds, nasturgiums, comfrey. I'm sure there are others but that will do for now.

The locals of Seaford are completely unable to prune roses and almost every single front garden has got horrendous gangly roses with maybe two roses at best on the plant - yuk.

Pampas grass oh yes and buddleia, how could I possibly forget buddleia - it looks ok for one week then is covered with dead heads for the rest of the summer.

I've joined just to say this after many many years of reading the forum.

    Mahonia!

I really dont don't understand why anyone would give mahonia garden room.

We had a buddleia growing out of our chimney. A good plant for inhospitable locations!
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I agree about mahonia - I loathe them. Hate the smell of pelargoniums. Can't stand the old fashioned council bedding schemes - white blue and red. In fact, not too keen on any annual bedding schemes.

  • I've just found out that if you had Pampas grass in your front garden in the 1970s it was a sign to attract 'swingers' image

That was just in Lewdown before moving here.

I have a Mahonia somewhere, can't find it now it's hidden behind a .....wait for it.....

    Bamboo!

I usually do about 200 fuchsia cuttings a year, my favourites.

The only thing I am not keen on is the red hot pokers,, planted a couple last year, and now there's a huge clump of it, I am not keen on plants that take liberties.
