Dilemma

VerdunVerdun Posts: 23,348

I have to collect some bags of compost later but now thinking of mushroom compost instead.

it's the weight thing.......I can get 60 litres of multi purpose compost or 60 litres of mushroom compost. I want whatever is the lightest though.

Advice would be appreciated image

Verdun, it's you we come to for advice - we couldn't presume to advise......... image

However, I think that if you asked yourself for advice, it would be to get whichever you can get the best deal on image

  • I think some time is needed in store picking up each bag, making notes about how heavy it feels, and on to next etc.

Are we talking about MPC or loam-based image

Pansy - I found a nice strong-looking bear of a man at the GC and asked if he could help me with some compost - he assumed a pained expression, clutched his back and explained that he didn't want to do his back in again.image

It's just as well that I'm a fit and strong pensioner isn't it? image

I presume mushroom compost is suitable for your use Verd - or you wouldn't be asking us! I've never used it - am I right in saying it's low in nutrients and is mainly for 'bulking up' soil?

Fg, the very same 'bear of a man' is married to OH's newest colleague (lovely lass) and a year onwards the 'bear of a man' is now very happy to load compost into my car, although he does have 'a dodgy back' image
