    Snap or snip the leaves off where they join the main stem image

    ...and you hang it up in a frost-free shed/garage/greenhouse/kitchen.  Monty did that last year.

    I've never taken off leaves except when they go yellow.  Maybe I will...

    Crikey oh Riley! It's still only August. You are all acting as though it is late September! It will come soon enough.



    Removing the leaves, hanging up the plants, picking the fruit and ripening indoors......!

    They were having this very discussion on GQT this Friday afternoon.  Panel were divided between removing all leaves, and leaving some on to carry on the important photosynthesising which powers the plant.  Conclusion seemed to be to remove leaves shading the trusses, but leave others on for now.  CB was on the panel, and did not volunteer his upside down method yet .....maybe laterimage

    Autumn's been here for several weeks and the season has been non existent anyway. I normally remove quite a lot of foliage as the fruits ripen, especially as they're planted quite closely, but this year I don't have many on the vine to start with...image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
