    As for cars.

I had the aforementioned morris minor.

Then a ford escort 1300 (company car)

then a ford escort 1600(company car)

then a Cavalier SRi that went like stink but attracted boy racers(company car)

then a Cavalier Diplomat that I bought off the company when I got made redundant. It got nicked three weeks later.  I bought another after six weeks of arguing with the insurance company .Then I got another job with a Peugeot diesel 405 that was dreadful.  I sold my cavalier to my dad, he loved it.

Then I fell out with that firm, got divorced , and bought a Calibra special , light blue with cream leather seats. (FU car)

Then  two Vectras. and now an Astra twintop.

Next car will probably be a motorised shopping trolley. My mileage has gone from 30, 000 a year to less than 10, 000.

A white Ford Escort. Reg - F48 JTV bought in 1996 for around £600 I think. Before that I drove company vehicles, a Ford Transit and a Volkswagen pick-up truck.

Since that Escort there was a burgundy Escort bought in 2000, a greeny-blue Ford Mondeo, a green Vauxhall Astra and now a green Peugeot 206 (parked in the drive as I type) image

Mine was a Morris Marina Coupe (Orange) My sister and I bought it between us for the princely sum of £900 in 1978/79. She used it in the day, I had a lift to work so used it in the evenings... Her boyfriend had a Datsun Sunny.... Great memories. image

  • Not sure how many cars I've had over the years....but probably my Ford Sierra Sapphire holds the most happy memories.......erm, huge back seat. image

Hmmmm.....and you say you are ALL 27 years old? image

  • I had an early mini with those electrical issues, Tetly....wet used to enter the engine compartment via the front grill and in turn found its way on to the distributer cap & HT leads. They fixed the problem on later models by fitting a deflector plate.

I would say there are few hereabouts with a few miles on the clock.  image

  • "We also bought a nice new bungalow (they don`t have bungalows in Australia)..for £4,000"

Perhaps I should start another thread...'how much did you pay for your first house?'

Mine was £1,795 for a new, 3 bedroom semi-detached. image
