That sounds a great idea Verdun, with pictures of the plants and their problems and film of how to do things to illustrate people's questions.

  • What a great idea! It would be cheap to do and fascinating to see the subtleties of humour and response that come with facial expressions and gestures. I'd love it, too.

Bunny, it was Antiques Roadshow. And they weren't plants, they were antiques. image

I watched tonights show and have to say it was boring, splitting a perennial, sowing sweet peas and planting a bare root rose have all been done before and were better explained and presented by previous hosts, Joe's current design section is a waste of time gold medal winner or not and Carol is just too smiley and happy to be true, The producers are trying to make Monty more likeable by playing on our love of animals hence the increasing presence of Nigel and the programme is becoming old hat. Come on BBC lets have some new blood with some new refreshing ideas and presentation style, In my opinion Toby and Alys would be a very welcome return given the poor start to this season so far.

I liked it last night, this is what I just wrote in another thread.  -  Did anyone see Gardener's World? Good one, I thought. I thought Monty was looking better, he was on form -  full of enthusiasm. Joe was at home with his contemporary design, Carol was her usual bubbly self, bit more eye make-up than usual! But her subject was mahonias which are one of my least favourite shrubs, boring and prickly for most of the year.
