Thank you all for the nice things you've said about my garden. It looks nothing like that at the moment! Snowdrops nearly over, daffodils not quite out, but there are a few helebores. Prunings and cut down dead stems all over the lawn!

We are all the same there lizzie.

I have just been down the garden to pick up pile, I couldn't stand looking at it anymore.

LeadFarmer, I see you've got a hedge (Leylandii?) on the left hand side of your garden. Do you find that lots very fine roots from this hedge grow out into your border and suck the goodness out of it? If so, what do you do against it or have you got a root barrier?

I'm really enjoying this thread. All the pictures are lovely and I'm hoping mine will do well this year - weather permitting.

We have just had some new trellis fitted for my new bumble bee border that is all dug out and ready for planting. It looks a bit baldy at the momemt but I do have some Johnson's Blue hardy geranium in there which I've now split and some clematis on the other side of the trellis. There is also a new water feature getting installed so it all looks a bit of a miss-match at the moment but have started off a lot of seeds and plants to go in.image

    This was Durandi last year.

I'm enjoying it too, Jean. Love that clematis. One almost forgets what they are like at this time of year.
