Talkback: How to grow astrantias

I grew some last year in dappled shade and they were beautiful; the bees loved them, but sadly they didn't come back up this year. Do I need to plant them every year?

Mind you, thinking about it I did buy them all from Morrisons supermarket. Maybe I should try bigger and healthier plants from a proper nursery (I'd forgotten about that)
