But is it worth growing Hostas, what with climate change and all? Wouldn't Agaves be more long sighted? image

    Most sensible comment Edd.

There are many reasons to cut down our fossil fuel addiction and over consumption of resources, potential climate change is just one. Re climate change, I'll stick my hat with the scientific consensus, rather than whether it felt a bit nippy last Tuesday... But I'm open to evidence proving the scientists are wrong, if anyone cares to actually show some.

Edd, that's proof positive, isn't it?   Lovely one!

Climate change is a reality. Places that used to get lots of rain are now experiencing drought. Places that are traditionally really cold are getting warmer = destruction of the glaciers. Places that are temperate like the UK are getting more rain and weird weather i.e the weather isn't as traditionally warm in summer and cold in the winter.

I used to live in the NE and we used to get 6-10 feet of snow every year, now it is cold and slushy rain.

We are experiencing extremes of weather caused by the gulf stream being affected. Hurricanes, tornadoes etc I could go on. Don't be confused by climate change and global warming as some places will get colder.

I'm with " climate change" don't think rain in summer means it's not happening, or a bit of a chill in winter.

Look at glaciers melting, rising sea levels.

I don't know why, or if it's caused by mankind,or if there's anything we can do about it,  but it's certainly happening.

Sitting inside today because of the cold, so watching the box.  History channel - watched the program called "Little ice age:Big Chill".  Was pretty convincing historic events and worth watching, even for the sceptics!
