hope they raked it off, if its a perennial meadow it should come back ok next year, they may even get a later flush of flowers this year in late August.

it happened where I live too,  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3058301/Bungling-council-worker-destroys-blooming-meadow.html  friends of the earth planted a load of stuff, using money provided by Kew gardens,

the year before the same council strimmed a whole load or northern marsh orchids on a nature reserve near the car park, their excuse when I asked them what they were doing? - they did it so they could litter pick the edge of the car park more easily!! image

I had to walk away before I said something (or did something) that would get me locked up!!

Can I ask how many people take the Western Morning News regularly?

Not me Lyn - I have an occasional peek online as we like to holiday in the West Country and take a bit of an interest in what goes on - I only saw this because I saw the original post and Googled.

Not me but it was in the ...dare I say it.... Daily mail. I was horrified, everyone knows it's spring and likely to be babies around and about plus the destruction for the summer months ! In our council there've been numerous cuts (as everywhere) and the head Gardner cut down to the ground all the beautiful landscaping bounding a new road, because he couldn't keep it litter free As his budget had been cut !!! So now, we have weeds and litter abundant
