    paul hardy, yes but my cherries were free!!! I have a lot of established fruit trees in my garden.  Believe me I do look after the birds VERY well here. I also have found they dont eat the blackcurrants, now there are thousands of them.

    nannybeach when i was at my friends house in france, the farmers there have large black crow type kites in the fields so we made one out of coat hanger wire, covered it in black bin bag plastic and ragged the edges for wings and hung that near her cherry trees so when the wind blew it looked like it was flying image

    Says all birds are scared of owls, plastic garden ornament, but you have to move it regularly, else they cotton on, plenty of wind here, too late for this year, but perhaps I will just get a couple of cheap kids kites.  My Husband has suggested I stay permanently by the tree keeping guard, - just thought perhaps he is meaning I look like a scarecrow!!!!!
