Tall Verbena

Hi, i have this Verbena (at least i think it is, hence the 2nd close up photo), and its around 5 foot tall now and does not seem to show any sign of any flowers......im even doubting it IS a verbena as its not what i was expecting it to look like..... they are pretty sturdy but rather tall, should i pinch out the growing…
