Lol Chris said when they'd worked on 'Garden Makeover' Diarmuid had done a garden inspired by 'the rings of Jupiter', and wouldn't have it that it was Saturn with the rings.

I walked past Alan Titchmarsh on Dover Street in the West End a few years ago. I couldn't help but do a massive smile, and he cheerily smiled back.  Was a bit shorter than I thought he would be!  He looked very smart in a dark suit.

If any was else is local to Nottingham, I've also met Stuart Dixon a couple of times. He did a talk at our local gardening club, and also opened his garden with the NGS. Lovely chap.

my hair in it's unkempt state is curly and is also red, i'm forever being told by nice old ladies 'ooh don't you look like charlie dimmock' it happens all the time, i don't really take it as a compliment to be honest imagebut smile sweetly as best i can.

While at glastonbury festival a couple of years ago i was watching a band with my friends and doing what you do at festivals and noticed this older couple on their fold out chairs nudging each other, next thing we overheard them "ooh you know who that is don't you? that's charlie dimmock" my friends knowing how it infuriates me just collapsed in fits of laughterimage

Haha Sanjy! Think you maybe making  Charlie Dimmocks appear far cooler than she actually is, she should be paying you to improve her reputation! image

I met lots of famous people when I worked in the theatre, I'm sure some of them were gardenersimage

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Arthur Billitt was a personal friend and though that connection I met most of the GW presenters of the late 1970/1980 era...including Percy Thrower, Clay Jones, Peter Seabrook, Geoffrey Smith, Gay Search and others.
