Hello , in my experience poppy seeds need to be disturbed , if that makes sense , always have lots , next door have large ones about 4/5 feet tall and multi heads , they are going to save some of the seeds for me image

Was out in the plot at 5.30, lovelly and calm and cool. Planted out plants I grew from seed this year.New connections on the hose yesterday, and a really good watering. I had a Golden Showers, yellow climbing rose up our last house, lovelly smell right from first flowering.  Put one here outside our bedroom, the flowers are much smaller, paler and hardly any smell, Hubby moved it earlier this year, up the side of the shed, it is romping away. All the annual type poppies have been poor this year, we have had Angel Choir for 3 years, self-seeded from the plugs I planted 3 years ago, about a foot tall, garden full of them, this year,g ot none (bought plugs again) There were deep pink Opium poppies when we moved here, again for 3 years they were gorgeous, only a few this year and late, before they were flowering by April, we still have them coming out now.  Shame the blooms dont last very long.  I always do the "sniff" test, with the roses in the nurseries!  Oh, nearly forgot the mos timportant news,  We have had RAIN this morning, probably only because we bought new connectors for the hoses! Rushed round and got all the houses plants outside for a freshen up.
