Thompson and Morgan

I ordered some plants that are due to dispatch end of May as they were a bargain, but now i'm worried I might miss my delivery as I due to go on holiday 6th of June. Unlikely to get someone to pick them up for me either.

Anyone have any experience of ordering with them? How fast are they at dispatching plants with dispatch dates?

Thanks. I rather regret my purchase now. image

I would send an email to them stating what you have just said.

Knowing T and M you may never get them!

  • I've had some early, some on time. Are they plugs or full sized plant? PLants might get delivered to a neighbour. Plugs will go through your letterbox image

Email them and contact them on Facebook if you have an account. I've found their plants generally to be good, any that have died have usually been down to me but if you don't hound the ar*e off them you'll never get a reply.

Have you checked "my orders" they say on their if they have dispatched and normal its 2-3 days after that either Royal Mail or Yodel .I have ordered many plants and they have been dispatched when they say.

Have had a plant come nearly dead  and one missing before but contact them on Facebook and you get a very helpful response quickly, I find their emails are very slow or none existent.

    Hopefully you get them

I complained via their facebook page about poor germination of sweet peas and they sent me another 2 packs in the post.

Hi, I ordered the cottage garden collection from gardeners world mag and it took 3-4 times longer than stated! When they come they are so dinky- I truly mean- tiny!

Also they labelled mine up incorrectly so I couldn't tell which was which variety. When I called them they offered me a new pack which 3+ weeks later I'm still waiting for.

I ended up googling seedling pics and asking my in laws and worked out what was what in the end. Sadly I had a skin reaction to either the digitalis or the delphinium so I've given those away. Thats not their fault though- although I think clearer labelling of this risk would be better.

They took a long time to answer the customer service line too.

When I called the order line to order from them though the phone was answered immediately.

I get the impression that they are trying to be big before they are really ready- so many companies do this.

You could try calling them but when I did this it made no difference- as far as they're concerned the plants are ready when they're ready... makes sense but they really should be more prepared or cap the offer to the first however many respondents rather than having annoyed customers.

I spend a fortune with Sarah Raven/ crocus and thought they'd be worth a try on this offer (only £5.65) but have decided they're not worth the savings. Would rather pay more to one of the other companies- get good sized super healthy plants that come very quickly or just start things off from seed myself.

I'd call them and let them know what you think...its the only way these companies will improve image

Not everyone has facebook. I certainly don't. Why don't you answer e-mails  promptly instead.?

I can personally confirm that corresponding with T&B by Facebook works really well.  They respond to queries very quickly and efficiently and in a friendly manner.  They replaced some plants for me much quicker than they said they could.  I've ordered a few things from them this year which was a first for me and I'm very impressed with the plants that they have sent to me.  All are growing well.
