    use a friends email address and say you 'your friend' want some work done and arrange to meet him at that  friends address preferably a man as back up and witness, don't tell him who you are when you enquire about the work and when he turns up you can ask your questions and tell him if you don't get it resolved or your money back you will see him in court.

    Lol. Your second message must have crossed with mine. Thanks for looking it up. Hope you don't have the same problems as there doesn't appear to be any easy fix as I don't use weed killers of any kind

    Thanks for replies Landgirl and Ceres. No it doesn't tear easily, I had to cut a piece off with scissors but it does let single blades of grass through and he has left gaps all over the place. the work was only completed in April. Contractor just won't reply to my emails and tomrequests to him to remedy

    Send him a letter by Recorded Delivery telling him that unless the matter is resolved to your satisfaction you will be contacting Trading Standards and seeking redress through the Courts. 

    Unless he's a total idiot that should focus his mind image
