I'm in Suffolk also. Although I'm not very experienced, my mother Dovefromabove knows her stuff and says it will be OK where I am image not sure if this helps, good luck!

Thanks Wonky.  always reassuring to have Dove's advice.  Will be checking my annuals soon.  I hope the Zinnias are okay.  they really don't like cold nights.  Where in Suffolk are you?

Good morning Ashdale - I don't think Wonky will mind me telling you that she's in Ipswich image  I'm near Norwich image

    Whereabouts are you?

Lowest temp last night in my garden was 6.6C  Runner beans (planted out) look perfectly happy and the tomatoes in the little greenhouse were snug under some bubble wrap and they look happy too.  I'm keeping their pots fairly dry.

Evening Dove.  I'm in Oulton Broad but I work at UEA.  We've chatted before.  The good news is the zinnias have survived the night and look very happy.  When is it going to get a bit warmer In East Anglia!?
