LittleMissS - its Tuesday night thats meant to be the problem (forecast 3 in Surrey, which normally spells trouble for us).....i think your potatoes will be ok tonight, and moonlit dash will not be needed. But I would have the newspaper at the ready tomorrow
Thanks Chicky , last time I let the dog out in my dressing gown and slippers at night my neighbour popped his head over the fence lol he was watering his garden
Not forecast here but I'll be out late with the hound and will 'sniff the air' to be on the safe side. My early spuds are just above the sleeve I added to their container as they kept on growing and are well earthed up and my toms are flowering in their containers but I do have fleece and am usually up early should there be a nip. Might pull the bubble wrap over the toms anyway as all I have to do is unclip the pegs holding it back
The Met Office forecast for this area is saying the drop in temp will be at 4am on Thursday morning - only down to 5C, so not much lower than the 7/8 we've been getting.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I'm really worried now. I have planted out my annual flowers and my cucumbers at the weekend. Will they survive? OH says not to worry as theMet Office reports a low of 8C overnight. I'm in Suffok.

Lol Verdum which forecast are you referring to (before I rush out to stick newspaper over my potatoes like a loon at this hour).

I hate to say it, but the El Nino has started, we could be in for a wet summer and perishing winter!
Meant to be a nighttime low of 6C here tonight, think the potatoes will be ok, but hope it doesn't get any colder Brrrrrr...
