hosta couldn't agree more , i love cottage gardens but if your brief is formal... that girl seems lovely but that was not in any way a formal garden, i will watch anything about gardening, i can always learn someything so i enjoy it, i don't mind joe swift buut i wish he'd stop saying 'right?' after he's given advice ( sorry i am so picky about speech as i'm constantly trying to get my 4 year old not to get into bad habits, i even correct my husband!)
I'm also happy with the winner and if you look on the RHS website you can get an idea of the brief the winner was given for his show garden.
I must say though that is a sign of the times that TV show winner gets a Chelsea plot to launch their design career. Surely a designer should have the career first and their body of work is what should qualify them for a Chelsea plot ?
Not one of my favourite gardening programmes but if there is nothing else to watch I will watch this. I agree with the comment made yesterday that it all seems to be about window dressing, not gardening with knowledge of how, where , when or why
getting a bit fed up of all the reality competitive programmes, seems every possible subject had been covered except dentistry! Maybe that will still come?
